LO4 - Analysis and application of findings Part 1 (P6,M3)

From my audience research I was able to collect feedback. What went well in my ident and What didn't go well in my ident. 

Ident 1:

What went well:

• The filming was good.
• The ident was not random.
• Video and storyboard match

Improvements that can be made:

• Adding ident music 
• Adding audio
• Adding the same colour logo as my ketchup so a red logo at the end 
• Making the last scene shorter and making the 2 come quicker 
• Using real ketchup instead of fake ketchup  
• Ident pops up randomly at the end 

Ident 2 :

What went well:

• The camera quality was good 
• The ident had a narrative 
• Video and storyboard are both very similar 

Improvements that can be made:

• The filming should be landscape
• Adding effects 
• Adding music 
• Making voiceover longer 
• Adding a logo 
• Ident longer 
• Adding a few more scene 
• Sound effects 

Things i am considering improving in my ident are the following:

Ident 1:

• Adding audio
• Making the last scene shorter and making the 2 come quicker
• Changing the logo colour at the end 
• Making ident logo not random at the end and making it sync in

Ident 2:

• Adding more scenes and making ident longer 
• Adding music 
• Making voice over longer
• Filming the ident the landscape 

Reasons why i am not considering my other feedback improvements:

The reason why I'm not going to make any other changes is beacuse i will not have time and it will not meet the deadline. In my first ident my focus group said i should use real ketchup but that would not work beacuse the paper would. In my second ident i will not be adding effects of the milk pouring in or anything beacuse its the news and the audience would be more older so they would rather just follow along instead.

LO3 - Production Weeks Report (P4)

 This is my evidence of my filming throughout the weeks, during the production process.

I started filming in school for my first ident. I opened the tripod and set it up. And placed my camera in the tripod and secured it so it does not move from the tripod. Making sure the setting is perfect.

This is me filming for my second ident at home. I used my phone to film for my second ident. I made sure my camera was clean and good quality to get the best results.

LO4 - Post-Production - Edits and Transitions report (P6,M3)

 

 The changes that I made to my idents is by shortening some scenes and taking some out. I then added some new scenes to fill in any missing gaps. One of the important scenes in my ident was when I put my headset on and got ready to watch the news. The reason I added this scene was because it allows the audience to have a better understanding of what is going on. Me putting on my headset shows that I am getting ready to watch something. 

I added effects to both of my idents because it was crucial to make them look better and stand out and way more enjoyable for the audience. Effects are used for visual purposes to make it more interesting and exciting. The reason I added effects was because it makes my ident look more unique and stand out way more. Weather I am adding changing colour or adding any transitions, the ident is only 30 second so everything that happens in the ident should be visually appealing. Having effects helps tell the  story better and make the audience understand the message more. I added effects to make my ident look more professional and making sure everything is looking smooth. I added effects so my target audience can enjoy my ident way more.

 I was able to collect feedback from teacher on how to improve my idents:

Ident 1:

• Making the ident logo match the ident (red)
• Adding sound effects 

Ident 2:

• Making the filming landscape
• Adding a voiceover  

To help make my ident better i will be using my teachers feedback.

LO4 - Post Production - Process report (P6,M3)

The screen shot above shows me uploading my idents. I had to upload my final idents. I had to create a master file. So the video is its best quality. I then i saved the file in my documents so that i i know where it is to post it on youtube. I then uploaded it on YouTube for both of my idents. As you can see, I posted it to YouTube with the setting "NO, it's not for kids" because the primary audience for my channel, BBC TWO, is adults . With 1080p being the highest resolution. This is to ensure that the entire Ident is visible, and it is rather good. The reason i choose to make these choices was because without going through this step by step my videos wouldn't upload and wouldn't be professional the target audience would also find it hard to access my idents. 

LO4 - Post Production - Sound report (P6, M3)

I found the music for my ident from a website as you can tell in the screenshot above. I made the decision to use this website because it was free to use and copyright free. After listening to some options, I had decided to pick the one that suits my ident the best. I used the website to turn the YouTube video into a MP3 file. I also made sure that I picked the best quality for the music before I had gone and downloaded it.  After I finished doing that I saved the music file to my computer. I made sure that I followed these steps. By following these steps, it allowed me to follow the rules about using the music legally but at the same time making sure that the music fits perfectly with my ident, this way it makes it more effective for the people who watch my ident. This is important because I don’t want my sound cutting out and disappearing and pausing at random times. This is why I made sure I was turning the YouTube video into a MP3 file.  

 I have taken this screenshot after I successfully downloaded the song to my computer and then I put it in the downloads folder. Once the music file was saved and stored in the downloads folder. I then used final cut pro which is a professional video editing software. When I opened final cut pro I went on the tool bar and found the music tab which was in the download section where I previously stored the music file in the downloads. I then selected the music tab, and it started the download process for my music track ready to be used in my project. I made the decision to move the music file from the downloads folder to final cut pro for several reasons. The first reason to why I made this decision was because I wanted to keep all my projects stuff in one place which makes it easier to find for when I need to access it and edit. The second reason why I made this decision is because putting the music straight into final cut makes it easier to sync with the video and change any things when I am editing this makes the whole process smoother and gives me way more control over how everything in the end comes together. Furthermore, by transferring the music file into final cut pro I put all project elements within a single platform which shows consistency throughout my editing process. This simply helps prevent the file disappearing or misplacement.
